While we do not know what the fall will look like, this course aims to help equip you with some of those foundational elements of online learning should we need to offer fully online experiences or classes in a blended/hybrid environment. And if we can return to normalcy in the fall, you will have an array of digital pedagogy practices that you can employ to enhance your face-to-face classroom!

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Develop course elements leveraging effective online learning practices
Analyze digital tools and develop strategies for their use in your virtual classroom
Create activities that foster engagement from learners in an online environment

How the Course Works

This course is self-paced and fully asynchronous - there are no assignments or other expectations. The course is intended solely as a resource for educators, trainers, or those interested in online learning. As a result, you could start with Module 1 and work through the course or drop in to Module 3 immediately.

That said, feel free to engage further with the course facilitator at any point - we want to support our educational community in finding success through the online environment.

The course features elements of content from our Microcredential in Instructional Design (a 4 course sequence that is part of our M.Ed. in Instructional Design and eLearning program).

South Carolina educators are eligible for an Online Teaching endorsement by completing the 4 course microcredential.
